If you haven’t been on social media for the past few days, or even if you have, you might not know that a handful of young girls of color are now missing.
There have been no Amber Alerts to tell anyone, and no major outlet had picked up the story before a few days ago and now celebs like Candice Patton, Lauren Jauregui, Rowan Blanchard and more are hoping to find them all.
“Stay vigilant, watch out for each other, say lots of prayers for these women and their families,” Lauren writes on her Instagram. “No humans should be missing and we really need to fix how normalized the conversation about missing children has become.”
She adds, “We have to stop being ok with the answer being that it is potentially due to human trafficking (which happens to be a billion dollar industry in the United States) we need to start asking the right questions and getting the proper answers. We need to stop telling girls to be careful and stay home so they are not abducted and if they are that they are not important enough to be reported about.”
See below for all the girls’ names who are missing from the DC area:

Lauren Jauregui has lit Twitter and Instagram on fire since sharing pics from her recent photoshoot with photographer Nicole Cartolano.
Taken last November in New Orleans with her ex girlfriend Lucy Vives, Lauren models a completely sheer dress in the swamp. The entire shoot is steamy and hot, and completely gorgeous.
‚ÄúBoth girls trusted me to photograph them together as sort of a coming-out, but they were nervous how their families would respond and the publicity they‚Äôd attract, especially from the Latin American community,‚ÄĚ Nicole with MTV.
She adds about the session, ‚Äú‚ÄėBare With Me‚Äô is a compromise which allowed us to describe what Lauren called ‚Äėlove in the 21st century.‚Äô We felt like the way that these photographs are presented are very disarming, sensual, and empowering all at once. And they‚Äôre not provocative or with ill intent.”
“It was important to use their voices to show the world that this is OK, this is acceptable, in the gentlest way possible.”
You can see all the photos on Nicole‘s website now.
Fifth Harmony‘s Lauren Jauregui got vocal at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
The 20-year-old singer and activist joined spoke out at a three-part panel series at the film, interactive media, and music festival this weekend.
Lauren‘s panel topic “People Aren‚Äôt Illegal: The Importance of Immigration and Asylum” is close to her heart.
“It kills me that we live in a world where we question people‚Äôs humanity,” said Lauren, who describes herself as bisexual Cuban-American. “Nothing defines a human except their heart, mind, words, and actions. That makes you a human.”
Joining Lauren on the panel — which was hosted by Urban Outfitters and Teen Vogue — was Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, who founded Muslim Girl when she was in high school.
Amani had great advice for aspiring young activists.
“This is that moment in history that future generations will look back on. We don‚Äôt want them to look back and say ‚ÄĒ How did that happen? We want them to say, ‘Yo‚Ķthe people won,’” she said.

Activists Rowan Blanchard, Lauren Jauregui and Yara Shahidi lit up Austin, Texas, as part of a three-part panel series on Art and Activism during SXSW.
The series — hosted by collab partners Urban Outfitters and Teen Vogue — brought together three of the strongest young celebrity activist voices at the annual film, interactive media and music festival.
‚ÄúI define activism as a need to know, help and explain,‚ÄĚ Rowan said during her panel called “The Intersection of Art x Activism: Using your Voice as a Tool for Change,” which was moderated by Teen Vogue superstar editor Elaine Welteroth.
Yara spoke out about how powerful voices of her generation really are. ‚ÄúWe are creating our own cannon ‚ÄĒ we are in charge of how we will be viewed by future generations,‚ÄĚ she said.
Lauren joined Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, founder of Muslim Girl, to speak on the topic “People Aren‚Äôt Illegal: The Importance of Immigration and Asylum.”
Lauren‘s talking about this topic comes after she penned a powerful open letter to President Donald Trump regarding his Muslim ban.
This is just another awesome example of young stars using their celebrity for good. Way to go, ladies!

Last month, Lauren Jauregui teased that she might be working on a collab with Steve Aoki and we can now officially confirm that it’s happening!
In a new interview, Steve opened up about their surprise collaboration, saying that “it’s going to be something people won’t expect.”
That’s all we needed to get excited about the track, but there’s more:
“We’re definitely working on stuff in the studio and I want to nail it,” Steve added. “[Lauren's] one of my favorite singers.”
He continued, “It’s really exciting to work with her because I really love her ideas and we’re on the same page about so many different things that it’s going to be an exciting record that we do together…. Expect the unexpected.”
Ahhh, now we really can’t wait!
People love to pit power girl groups against each other, which is why we love seeing them publicly support each other.
Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony subtly sent her love to Little Mix‘s Jade Thirlwall recently.
PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Lauren Jauregui
She commented on Jade‘s Instagram photo of a still from LM‘s “No More Sad Songs” video.
“Bad bishh” Lauren wrote.
Jade saw it and wrote back with a heart emoji. Too cute!
Now can we work on a 5H and Little Mix collaboration of some sort?! Let’s make that happen, please.
Fifth Harmony might be hitting the studio with Skrillex!
The group – Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Hansen and Normani Kordei – were spotted in what could be a recording studio with the famed producer earlier this week.
Skrillex took to his Snapchat story to share some funny videos with the girls as they played around with the face filters.
“We are the princesses!” Skrillex jokingly sang, with Normani chiming in with a, “Yes we are!”
We hope these videos together mean that the group has a new song in the works!

General consensus is that Noah Cyrus killed it last night with her heart-wrenching performance of “Make Me (Cry), and Sabrina Carpenter and Fifth Harmony‘s Lauren Jauregui certainly aren’t arguing.
Both the Girl Meets World star and Fifth Harmony singer posted pictures with the budding starlet on Instagram at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
“You were so bright on that stage last night @noahcyrus love u!!!,” Sabrina posted on her Instagram, along with a black-and-white photo of the two of them posing together.
“Our nugget @noahcyrus absolutely slayyyed last night, so proud of you mama” Lauren praised.
It’s so cool that all of these stars are reaching out to Noah — who wore a nose ring in her septum, see the pics here — and supporting her when her career is just getting started.
Having female role models like Sabrina and Lauren will likely make a world of difference.
